Business Plan for a Home Based Business - I-Action step #11
Welcome back!
Once you have your work schedule and your meeting with your family, you have to delegate. As a mother, a father, a husband, a wife, we all have tasks that we have to do to contribute to these relationships. Initially, with your own new home-based business, you will have less time for those tasks. You will be using that time to work your business to reach your goals for you and your family. To get to your Why! You are going to need to re-juggle your home tasks. Can you delegate some tasks to your spouse or children? Can you ask your wife to take the kids to soccer practice Wednesday night? Maybe ask your husband, “Can you please take little Ethan to karate on Tuesday night? That’s my time for me to call my prospects.” Can you arrange a car pool for your children with your neighbors to get yourself more free time to work your business? Can your husband have dinner ready on Thursday night? You must delegate because you cannot be efficient otherwise. A lot of mothers find themselves coming home from work planning to work their business, but they sit down at their desk, the kids come and spill something on their clothes. Off mom goes to change the kids; she is upstairs lugging a laundry basket and the next thing she knows, she’s doing laundry for the rest of the evening. These type of things keep happening to home-based business owners.
Instead of an evening of 4 hours of productive work, it turns into 4 hours of frantic, unproductive, half-work/half-home chores. Instead, try to give yourself 3 hours of butt-kicking time, where you’re 100% focused on your business, followed by 1 hour of butt-kicking laundry time. Even better, delegate it. Your husband or wife can help you. Life is full of distractions. Delegation is going to help you alleviate stress and handle distractions much better.
