I-Action step #3 acquire self-discipline

This is one of my favorite quotes and it is form The Foundation for Children. They talk about how to teach kids self-discipline and it said, “Self-discipline requires an understanding of one’s self, and an awareness of the ways in which can cope with difficulty, frustration, and disappointment. Self-discipline affords a person the inclination to concentrate on the task as long as it is necessary to learn, perfect or complete it.”

We all know what the meaning of self-discipline is, but this quote said it so eloquently. That just hit the nail on heard! We had just had our 2008 Olympic, what an awesome event. I enjoy watching the Olympics very much, not only because it is competition of all sports at the highest level but the sprits of these athletes. Every single one of them has a tremendous amount of self-discipline. No greatness ever comes without self-discipline. To have the inclination to concentrate on a task for as long as it is necessary to learn it, perfect it, and/or complete it. That is self-discipline, and that is the key to excellence and to achieving any goal. Being a successful business owner, an athlete, a singer, to be successful in anything you want to be. The driving force to achievement is self-discipline.

I remember Celine Dion, when she…this is awhile back, she first got into golf. She told the press that she was going to break 100 in golf. For those of you that golf, can you all remember when you first breaking 100. That was huge. She said, “I’m going to break 100, by X date.” Guest what? She did. When the press asked her how she did it, she said, “I just hit 500 balls every day until I broke a 100” That is self-discipline. Do it everyday, day after day. Until you archive your entrepreneur dream.
