Increase Productivity - part 1

Welcome back!

Productivity – Who would like to increase their productivity? Let me see a show of hands? To increase your productivity you need to be a Productive person. Now you may ask, “What makes a productive person?” The answer is: Work ethic, Time management & the ability to delegate. To increase your productivity you will need all 3 of these skills. You can never finish your tasks if you have poor work ethic or poor Time management skills. You will forever be playing catch up, running after things and never on top of things. And Delegation! This is a must! You will never accomplish more, if you don’t delegate.

Personally, I have never had a problem with Work Ethic, and Time management. The biggest problem I had was Delegation! In the early years of running my first business, what held me back the most was me doing everything. Even when I hired a person to do a job, I still felt I should do that job with them. So we were both doing the same job and I was paying that person to be there. In my 5th year in business, my business was at a plateau. I had 11 employees that were all hired to do a specific job. What ended up really happening was the 11 employees became assistants to me. They each assisted me do the work they were hired to do! Nobody in the company was happy. I was getting burnt out. The employees were not doing the kind of work they were seeking to do. They did not answer to the employment Ads for General Manager - assistant, Technical Department Manager - assistant, Sales Manager – assistant.

You get the point! My friends and family were increasingly concerned about me. Everyone could see I was under a lot of stress, my health was beginning to suffer. The doctor ordered me to drink a dietary supplement to keep my weight up. I weighed 91 Lb and I would be dropping into the 80’s very soon. I had aches and pain all the time. I often went without sleep as well. Everyone around me strongly advised me to slow down, to let someone else help me! Hire more people!
