Need Confidence? Keep taking Imperfect Action!
Welcome back!
Lack of Confidence can stop you from taking action, and self-doubt normally follows immediate after. Then you start asking, “Do I have what it takes to make it happen? Am I smart enough? Does other want to be around me? Do people believe in me? All these questions go through our minds, they race through our heads, and it’s all because of our confidence level. Perhaps it’s not quite high, and that can be why we feel that we cannot take action, cannot do anything about their situation.
Confidence is a funny thing; not everyone is born with it, it’s not an innate trait, but it is something you can improve. A great way to gain confidence in doing something that you’re afraid of is to just do it and keep on doing it. Even if just doing a small little step toward it everyday. When you take an action over and over again, it becomes less of a big of a deal and you have more confidence in it.
You’ll also see that you did better on your 10th attempt than you did on your second attempt, and you did better on your 15th attempt than you did on your fifth, and so on. Another thing you can do to build your confidence is to reward yourself for things that you’ve done well. If you focus on that, your confidence will naturally build and grow. Focus on what you do right, or are improving. Just keep taking Imperfect Action everyday, it is better than taking No Action.
