Social Networking… Trick or Treat?

Welcome back!

When we think about Halloween, we think about Trick or Treat.

However, lately I wonder in social Networking is it Tick or Treat?

In my Facebook I have been getting friend invites and as soon as I accepted the friend invite. The very next message I get is “Come to my teller conference.”

In my Youtube I posted my I-Action Video, and I get comments that doesn’t really relate to me. And come to find out that person was just trying to put his sales video link to my video.

In my Twitter I got people who follow me, then I come to find out they just want to DM me to there opt in page.

Even in my blog, I got comment that sounds very complementary, but after reading more carefully I realize it is from blog spammers.

With all of that said, I must point out that I have been blessed to get a whole lot more Treats within Social Networking, than I did receive tricks. I made a lot of new good friends, met a lot of like minded people. People that are fun, helpful to one another, people with a great missions, people that are genuine.

The point I am making is: online or off line, there will always be a few bad apples. None the less, there are more good apples than bad apples.

And as to the bad apples (the tricks), please STOP working people and just be real.

Giovanna:
I have experienced the same thing in my Facebook especially when I entered into Twitter which just filled up full pages of other websites which I commented on “Where is that Social Etiquette” that someone I know has been throwing around.

Maybe we need to start a blog on Social Etiquette and what it means. Just to see how the cookie crumbles.

Have a good day, a better weekend with your two men friends, I would consider Dylan now a part of the men friend environment in that he is rapidly approaching that crucial age for you two - the age of 1 (one). Now as new parents you may not know what is looming on your horizon, THE TERRIBLE TWO”s. Believe me Mary Ann and I have been there and done that with over 50 of those times. But, there is always a but. Keep a log, remember all the things that he does, and when he is a little older you may just hand him that book when he says “Mom/Dad we are getting married” and remind him “What goes around, come back around.’ But (again) what you will always have regardless of those two’s which you around anyway, you will both remember how your love for him grew deeper in your hearts that no one can take away. Then you will have a smile or a tear of love remembered over the years.

These kinds of things are happening to much. They must not know the rght way to do things in the social network sites. Maybe some one will tell them some day. When the leads dry up for them, maybe they will quit what they are doing.

Dear Deanna

You are right about the spammer need to stop spamming. I am not sure if they don’t know that it is bad or they don’t care. Thanks for your comment. I look forward to reading more from you.

Take Care,
Giovanna Garica

You could have called this Social Networking… Trick or Tweat?

Social Marketing Spam is an indication that there is an awefull lot of people that just don’t get Social Marketing. The trick or treat part is: Is that a good thing or bad?

Certainly means that there are alot of people who need your guidance. In stead of telling them how they shouldn’t behave - we should prove to them why they could use Social Marketing correctly and how it will benefit them more.

Hi Patrick

There is very big need in the market place for people to teach social marketing. We got one group who have no idea how to use it? And another group who need to learn how to use it correctly?

Thank you for your comment, come back anytime.
