How about some Good News?

Welcome back!

Why is it that most News are bad news? The housing market crush! The unemployment rate is going up! Economic Crisis! Where does all the Good News go? Does all good News go unnoticed?

The Media loves bad news! The worse is the better, the more shocking the better.

What about gossip? Why do people like gossip? Why gossip are usually bad news? Celebrity gossip! Neighborhood gossip! Mostly are all negative. Don’t good things happen anymore? Doesn’t anyone like to talk about good things?

Some people believe if they see or hear someone else’s misery, it will remind them of how fortunate they are. Therefore, it will make them feel better about themselves.

I believe the contrary; I believe that regardless of our own circumstances. Good news beat bad news any days! Good news brings us ‘hope’ and ‘belief’ of what is possible.

So let’s take action, by start talking about Good News! Even the smallest news will do. We have to start focusing on the good things that happen all around us. We have to train our eyes, our ears and our lips.

Today, I saw two men who are strangers to one another; they pulled over their vehicles to the middle of the Highway in between the two traffic directions.  They were working together as a team to catch a lose Yellow Labrador. These two men took time out of their busy lives to save this dog. On this busy highway with a lot of motorists, everyone slowed down to give these two men the space to catch the dog. And they did save the dog.

That is my Good News. People do care! Strangers can work together! Motorists on a busy highway can slow down!

Tell me “Your Good News?”

Yes, I agree we could all use some more good news in our lives.

My good news for the day? The magic markers Jake used to draw a map on his belly DID wash off the furniture. ;-)

Honestly, I haven’t watched news or read news in years, except for what I have to read to do my job. Otherwise I don’t watch. Too depressing.

Hi Giovanna,

Steve dropped me off at the mall, parked the car, and then met me inside. After shopping, he couldn’t find the car–so he called his brother (the mall is about 5 mins away from where we are visiting my mother-in-law and her boyfriend in Dunn Loring, VA) Phil (Steve’s brother) came and took us around in different parking lots of the mall–we went through five parking lots driving around until Phil spotted the car–if it wasn’t for Phil doing a good deed and driving over for us, we would still be walking around and looking for the car.

Nice post! I agree with you: we need more good news! I think there is much goodness in the world today, but because the bad is “noisier”, it seems to get all our attention. Thanks for reminding us to be positive.

Hi Nancy

Your story reminds me when I was in College, the same thing happen to me! I parked my car when to class and when I got out of class and I can’t find the car. I had to call campus security and they drove me around until I spotted my car :-)
Phil is a good man! :-)

Thank You for sharing you good news with me, I feel like I went shopping with you at the mall ;-)

We’ve never understood why people are so attracted to negative gossip and news. The T.V. is filled with it!! We’ve eliminated “Not-so-good” news from our lives a long time ago, too. We cancelled our newspaper subscription and never watch the news. Instead, we “feed our minds” with blogs like yours and other inspirational, uplifting stories.

Our great NEWS!! Our daughter, Mia took her very first steps this month!! She has recently advanced to taking steps with just having one hand held!! She’s determined to walk!! We’re so proud of her!! Just a few months ago, she wasn’t even sitting up on her own due to medical reasons. We’re EXCITED and THRILLED!! Mommy, Daddy and Big Brother Noa, are so proud!!

Many Blessings….

Hi Giovanna, I just came back from VA–looked through the mail and I got an unexpected card in the mail from a member of weightcircles.com (encouragement and support free online site for loosing weight)–(I’m a member of a private circle w/her and three other ladies for maybe two months now)–inside card msg is just a little note to brighten your day. She writes–”you are a special person and I am so thankful for you and our little group. My inspiration comes from you, when I feel the incredible joy of an idea coming on, I know it’s a gift from your heart to mine.

I very rarely get cards in the mail other than for my birthday and for the holidays, just thought I would share this with this group here. Hope everyone had a nice w/e!

I think if we stop giving our ‘judgements’ of what is good or bad and start beliveing in HIM that whatever HE is doing , is beneficial for the humanity, we will be a better lot.
These are my humble views.I may be wrong.
God bless.
