In the latest meme - the blogosphere’s version of the game of tag - Dominick Evans tagged Chris Brogan. Chris tagged Glenda Watson Hyatt. Glenda tagged me. And by accepting the tagging for this particular meme, I am now going to share five things about myself that you might not know.
1. My Chinese giving name is Wai-Yan. It means Appreciation to God. My Parents met in Church and they were very involved with Church before I came along. Then life got difficult for them, so I didn’t grow up with Church on Sunday. Also the two symbols for Wai-Yan each include the symbol of hearts. So my name has 2 hearts in them. That might by why I have more hearts than talent. LOL
2. I got my first broken bone during a riding accident. Despite of I was still new to riding and I was no spring chicken when this happened. Most people (including my riding coach) think I most likely would not return to riding. Well, I did! And I still ride till this day. In fact, I learned a lot of myself during my come back in riding.
3. I was a member of Al-non for almost 2 years. That was a valuable lesson. I learn the difference between Helping and enabling. I also learned that codependency is not when you are so nice and you just can’t stop helping. Codependency is a relationship addiction!
4. My favorite junk food is Lays BBQ chips and teriyaki beef jerky. And once a year during the county fair I like to eat BBQ White corn and a big BBQ Turkey Leg. Not only because it taste good. More so, because People a kind of looks at me funny with a big Old Turkey Leg in my hand. And I think that is worth of the price of admissionJ.
5. I still cry whenever I watch E.T. the part when Scientists set up a medical facility in the house, quarantining Elliott and E.T. And the link between E.T. and Elliott disappears as E.T. appears to dying. The Scientists were all over E.T. to try to safe him, and Elliott screaming “Leave him alone! You are hurting him!” Man, that gets me; I do the ugly cry every time!

Gotta admit I love BBQ chips, but not the biggest beef jerky fan…thought it would be good after hearing so much about it but for some reason it just doesnt taste how I think it should…
BBQ food is always good though! You can probably tell I’m hungry; focusing on the food bits, lol!!

BBQ White corn? I had no idea that even EXISTED!!!!! LOL BBQ on corn? Hmmm… not sure how I would feel about that!

Very nice post. Oddly enough, everything you mentioned has NOT happened in my life; well, I wouldn’t expect that your first point would have anyway. lol But I like your point at #3 the best; many people need to learn that one.

Hi Giovanna!! This is going to be FUN!! Thank you for sharing more about yourself.
Now, a few random facts about me…..
1. I’m always asked if I was named after the song or when people hear my name, they always sing “Roxanne” by the Police. Well, my parents would tell you NO. LOL They actually named me after a famous Filipino actress they were both fond of.
2. I played clarinet and saxophone in the Marching and Concert band throughout Jr. High and High School.
3. I had a titanium rod placed inside my tibia (leg), held together with 3 screws. I fractured my leg in two places during a skiing accident. Needed reconstructive surgery. Still love to ski, just haven’t been on the slopes in awhile. Would love to teach my kiddos to ski in the future.
4. Love anything CHOCOLATE!! LOL
5. I enjoy Disney’s High School Musical movies as much as our kids do. Maybe even more. LOL We dance and sing to all the songs. It brings out the kid in me.

Hi Giovanna!! I loved learning something about your personally.
Here are my five things.
1. My middle name is Octavio and I have never used my given name until this year. So all my friends and the majority of my family has known me as Octavio. They all got the news when they called me and got my voice mail.
2. I love cars! I bought me first car at the age of 19. Since then I’ve owned 14 vehicles, including Vintage VW’s: 54 oval Bug, 59 Ragtop Bug, 63 Bug, 70 Bug and 62 panel bus.
3. In 1989, I sufferd a terrible bike accident that left me with 32 stiches on my upper right forehead, a black eye and a scraped left cheek. I used to be teased that I looked like I just stepped out of the ring with Mike Tyson.
4. I drove from California to Georgia, literally across the country, in 28hrs.
5. I’ve met Sammy Davis Jr. Bill Cosby and Kobe Bryant.
It was great sharing my five things you did’nt know about me. It brought wondeful memories.
