Take an Action of Kindness.

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

No kind action ever stops with itself. One kind action leads to another. Good example is followed. A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees. The greatest work that kindness does to others is that it makes them kind themselves ~ By Amelia Earhart.

Whenever we have a kind thought in our head and choose to take action on that it becomes Kindness. So without Action kind thoughts are just thoughts.

This morning I posted on twitter about my radio interview in the afternoon and I asked for advice about being interviewed. Then there was many Action of Kindness followed. I received advices and supports from both Twitter and FaceBook. Some of whom I have never spoke with before.  These kind people saw the post of “advice for interview.” The thought of the advices came to them, and then they took the Action to write to me with the advice. That was an Act of Kindness.

The holiday is coming soon, and a lot of us have the thought of making a donation to Goodwill, volunteer to feed the homeless at Thanksgiving, adapting a family for Christmas, doing toys for tots or may be going to an elderly neighbor and inviting them over for a visit. Whatever the thoughts might be, choose to take Action on your kind thoughts and you will turn them into Kindness. It will be the best Holiday gift you can give to yourself.

And if you are every having days when you are feeling blue, take an Action of kindness; think of a kind thought about someone and take Action on it. You will be glad you did.

Kindness begins with Action! What do you think?

Hi Gio .. we should all do more for others .. and we’ll reap the rewards: I hope that we all at this time of year can give to others in a way that will benefit them directly, not as a benefit to yourself as the giver .. so often we do things to make ourselves look good .. it’d be an excellent thing if we’d all think of what the others want & need at this time of giving. I’m pleased you had so much advice .. it must have been good as the radio interview was excellent - everyone should listen. All the best Hilary

Hi Giovanna,

In foodtown in NJ there is already a toys for tots box set up as of last wk. I spoke to Darel this morning (lobby guard where I work) and he said that the toys for tots box will set up in the lobby soon and he’ll tell Miasody (8th floor lobby guard at work–the floor that I’m on) to tell me as to when it will be set up. Your story made me think of my experience at LL Bean in VA–I was at llbean in VA recently and couldn’t find what I was looking for, so I asked the first lady that I saw esp since it was two floors for that store, and she walked me over to that section and said thank you–she said, no, thank you, I said your welcome–she giggled and said that she wanted to thank me because I was the first person since she started working there aprox 5 yrs who didn’t laugh at her or make fun of her and who actually looked her in the eyes when she spoke VS looking to the side or down–(she was overweight and had a large gap between her two front teeth) she said it made her day and she was really happy.

Hi Giovanna - It’s Alane Brown!
Great topic. It really had me thinking today. It goes well with your “Imperfect ACTION” mindset for surel. How many times do we think about wanting to do good and never move on it? I know it happens to me. You have added to my inspiration of being “in action” and not just thinking of being in action! I did wish to mention my favorite quiet action if I may- when we see people or friends or family - in need we can stop our busy minds and be in the action of prayer for one another. Blessings Giovanna. You are an inspiration!

Dear Alane

So good to see you here. :-D
Thank You for that quote, I really like it. We all have to keep taking Action. Time is passing and it doesn’t care if we do a lot or we do nothing. It is up to us.

Thank You for your comment, I look forward to reading more from you.

Dear Giovanna

Yes, taking action on a kind thought is clearly a good thing. But I wonder about the thought itself.

You say that “without Action kind thoughts are just thoughts.” Many times we will not be able to act on our thoughts but we should not feel that this makes the thought worthless. If one is a religious person, the power of prayer brings many people together in thought alone.

How many times have you received a phone call or message from someone you were just thinking about? A coincidence maybe, but we should not underestimate the power of thought :-)

But, having said that, when a good thought can be followed by a kind action, we should be glad to take that opportunity.

Dear hey_tc

Thank You for you comment. Thoughts and Dreams are very important that is were everything start at! What I am saying is don’t just stop there!! Put action in to your thoughts and dreams.

While I do believe in prayer, I also believe that God help those who help themselve. So I say we should do our part.

Thank You for your comment, I look forward to reading more from you.

Hi Giovanna,

We love that quote by Amelia Earhart!! It made us think of one of our favorite quotes expressed by Anne Frank, “How Wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment to improve the world.” The best type of kindness are the random acts of kindness. The things we do with our hearts without expecting anything in return.

And on a side note, our thoughts, put into action are the beginnings of great achievements to follow. :-)

Many Blessings….
