Strengths Vs. Weaknesses

Welcome back!

Each and every one of us have our own Strengths & Weaknesses. Have you ever take a good look at them. Take a personal Inventory!

It will be an empowering experience. You will most likely find that you have more strengths than you realized.

Make a list of your strengths and then make a list of your weaknesses. Be completely honest, no use to coloring the true here. Put the two lists side by side.

First do you see any conflicting items? For example: You may see under Strengths – Leadership and you might also see under weaknesses – I listen to too many people. Or you may see under Strengths – very productive and you might also see under weaknesses – have trouble delegating.

If that is the case, circle the strength items that are related to the weakness. Then cross off the weakness items. Because you now identify what strength items that you can work on amplifying and you will minimize or eliminate those weaknesses.

Now let’s get back to the Strengths List.

Recognize them and be the best that you can be to focus on them. Remember “We win with our Strengths, Not on our weaknesses.”

It is because we are the most effective when we are working with our Strengths. We are at our best when we work with the part of us we enjoy working with most. We can get the most bangs for the buck when we work with our strengths. That is why we win with our Strengths!

Now let’s go over to the Weaknesses List.

Recognize them as well. See if these weaknesses can be improved an acceptable level? Or can you delegate it! No one person needs to be great at everything. It is Ok to delegate. May be you can partner up with someone who’s strength is your weakness?

Lastly “Stop thinking so much about you weakness.”

Focus on your Strengths! Your Strengths is what is going to make you a winner. All successful people have weaknesses, yet still they are winners due to their Strengths.  A sprint runner work on getting faster and faster, they don’t go and try to be a long distance runner.

Hi Giovanna, This is Shaw. Again this is very inspiring article. I think strength and weakness are both edge sword. People become strong because their weakness. Same person can lose because he won last one. Marketing theory tells that top share brand will lose its share not because of weakness, but because of strength. But, to improve, I agree that we should be aware of both and keep trying to modify for our favor. Thank you for your sharing.

Hi Giovanna-
Lately, I have found I have more strengths than weaknesses. I spent WAY too much time focusing on my weaknessses and all that I couldn’t do. When I began to use one of my strengths -many others followed and now I am more motivated, more inspired and yes- more in action. I know p in my gut- That I am a strong and capable woman. Blessings - Alane

We use our strengths to get us going. If we work on our weakness we might be able to make them into strengths as well. Giovanna you have had a lot of things people would have called weaknesses, but look at how far you have come and you help others as well. You, yourself are an inspiration to a lot of us that learn from you.Thank you.

Hi Giovanna,

thank you for sharing about strengths and weaknesses with everybody. You have explained it to me a few months ago, and since then I started discovering my strengths and focusing on them. Now I understand why it is so important. Everything is so much easier, I love what I do, I’m more productive…and, generally, people love working with people that perform the best they can. And you can do that only working with your strengths.
We all have them, you just need to discover them. It’s one of the keys to success!

Thank you for being a great mentor!

Great advice and an empowering exercise!! Focusing more on our strengths makes them even stronger!! And in turn will make any previous weaknesses obsolete. We end up being so good at what we do that we end up never thinking about any weaknesses.
We like what you said earlier about lemon pies. :-) You’re a prime inspirational example of how our strengths can make us Winners.

Many Blessings….
