Seven simple things you can do when you are feeling stress.

Welcome back!

Even the most Zen Person feels stress sometimes. Here are 7 simple little things that you can do quickly and easily to help you feel better fast.

1. Take deep full breath. We have all learned to constrict our breathing in response to stress. We not only need oxygen to stay alive, we need oxygen to give us energy and keep us healthy. Right now take 5 deep, full breaths.

2. Stop asking “Why”. Shift from “why it happened” to what I want to do about it now. Asking “why” is not a very empowering question. Asking what or how I want to proceed can be much more powerful and produce forward movement.

3. Count your blessings. What is working right in your life? Make a list. What or who you are grateful for. The more you practice gratitude, the more you attract into your life things to be grateful for.

4. Take time to address your personal needs. What is it that you been meaning to do for yourselves that you have been putting off? Do them now!

5. Have some fun. Call a friend, put on some great music and dance till you drop anything that is fun for you.

6. Tell yourself “It is what it is and everything always works out”.

7. Remember that whatever you are doing, it doesn’t have to be perfect.

It may also help to reflect on the fact that getting stressed over something will not change anything and will actually compound the feeling. Taking your tips will actually help the situation.

Thanks Giovanna, I love point #2 - to focus on what you can do to improve a situation, instead of worrying about the past. Not many people can do that in times of pressure.

Just looking at what happens in my workplace everyday… everyone is pointing fingers here and there all time. Sometimes I just cannot help it to think “What’s the point!?” Yes, someone is at fault, someone caused this mistake… so what? Just learn from it move on!

Hi Kian Ann

I love # 2 as well :-)
I know what you mean about most people, I always say, “What are you going to do about it?” Because that is all that matter!

Thanks for your comment, I look forward to reading more from you.

Hi Giovanna, I love the article. It is great suggestion for recovering from stress. The part I loved most is 2. Think about what to do instead of why. It carries common practice with my “Fill the Missing Link” to stay positive. Thank you for your article. See you later.

Great stress relief tips. One thing we like do to relive stress, is taking a walk with our children. Watching their happy little faces brings happiness and joy into our days.

This article really took some stress off my busy schedule as I’m writing this comment. Love taking deep breath and blast my music away when the stress kicks in.

Another good way I discovered is actually to take a walk in the nearest garden or park especially on cooling days.

Thank You for your comment, I look seeing you again.
