Holiday spirit!
Welcome back!
Last night I ordered photo online from Wal Mart, pickup time was this morning at 10:00. I was at the store early I got there at 9:30, I knew I was early but I think to myself “Let’s just see”. I walked up to the photo counter and I can see one Clerk behind the counter answering the phone and the Dept. looks to be mess from the night before. She seems to be having a bad day already. As she hung up the phone and she turned to me. My instinct told me to give her the warmest Good Morning possible.
I said to her, “Good morning! I placed an order online last night, I am not sure if it is ready yet…” I gave her my name and we found that it is not ready. So, I just hung around the counter. The photo Dept.’s phone was ringing off the hook. I watched her answer the phone, trying to keep up with the photo printing machine, by putting the photos into the correct packages. I could tell she was over whelmed. A shopper came up and she was upset with the Clerk, because the Clerk was busy help customer on the phone instead of help this shopper to use the self service photo printing machine. Without thinking about it, I answered the shopper’s question and I help the shopper use the photo machine.
A minute passed another shopper came up and this shopper used the self service photo center to order one hours prints. She then wants to know if the clerk can finish her photo in less time; due to her order were only 4 photos. The clerk answered, “Most likely it is going to take an hour, because I have all these order who came before” The shopper rolled her eyes and walk away with an attitude toward the clerk.
The clerk put her head down and she started to walk back to work by the big photo machine. I said to her, “I will help you if I know how!” She looked up at me and let out a big breath of air and she said, “I know you would… someone else should be here soon. I will be OK!” Shortly after that she handed me my photos and I said, “Thank you so much. Have a happy holiday!” She gave me the biggest smile and said, “You too!”
I got into my car, as I am driving away from the parking lot. I saw this man in his car honking at a security guard, because the guard was crossing in front of his car.
The two shoppers and that driver’s behavior were not becoming to them. I just wanted to say “Holiday spirit is not about getting the shopping done. It is about being kind to people; even strangers.”

“The two shoppers and that driver’s behavior were no becoming to them”
Should be,
“The two shoppers and that driver’s behavior were not coming to them”
I think that is what you mean.
You write your articles in the most touching ways ever. I am not regretting suscribing to your blog.
Happy Holidays!
No imperfection in this…your actions, words, and attitude were PERFECT! Thank you…for what you did and for reminding us.
Hi Giovanna
Yes, there is this selective sense of giving it seems.
I’m glad that you could help that assistant’s day. She will probably remember that for quite some time.
Juliet
Hi Giovanna.
You’re attitude to the festive season (the season of giving and generousity) is becoming you.
Sorry Trevor, and I’m normally not really one to correct someone but-
becoming = that suits or gives a pleasing effect or attractive appearance, as to a person or thing. The attitude of the two shoppers and the driver were indeed not becoming them

Yikes. Good reason not to get your photos at WalMart. Try Costco or Snapfish; you can have them mailed to you!
Hi Trevor
Thanks Trevor
Yes, I meant not becoming! I will fix it
Thanks for the complement. I am glad you like my blog.

Hi Nancy
Thanks for the tips! I do know Costco, but never thought about CVS!?
Holiday seasons, it is important to keep in mind ‘be kind to everyone’ not just kind to those we have to be kind to :-)’
