What would you tell your Young Self?
Welcome back!
Do you remember back in your teenage years, back when you were developing into your own? The transition period from being a kid and becoming a Man or a Woman! A time when a young adult search for his or her own Identity!?
Do you remember the intensive analysis and exploration of different ways you did in looking at yourself?
What if there is a way you can send a message back to the teenage you!? What message would you send?
Here is my message I would send to my young self.
1. It is ok that they call you ‘Ugly Duckling’; you are just a late bloomer! You are not ugly!
2. Not to worry about that boy who breaks your heart, it is for the better! Believe me when I tell you, he is not worth your time!
3. It is way cool that you are not like everybody else. Your differences are what make you brilliant.
4. Be nice to yourselves, you are totally worth it.
5. It is ok that you are ‘Geekie’! Geeks are cool!
6. You are not a looser! Fitting in is over rated! You are so going to ROCK!
In the latest meme - the blogosphere’s version of the game of tag – Juliet du Preez tagged me. And by accepting the tagging of a meme, the rule is for me to share 6 interesting Random Facts about me. The point of this game to help us bloggers to get to know one another, the last time I was tagged, I wrote 5 things about me and I didn’t speak English…may be no one will notice? So this time I decided to share “Message to my young self and I think you’ll learn 6 facts about me.
The 2nd part of the game is for me to tag 6 people for them to share 6 interesting Random things about themselves. I am tagging Global patriot, CW, Patti Digh, Richard Arblaster, Jared Young, and Jeremy. If you want to join in the fun, go and tag 6 people each and ask them to link back to the one who tagged them. Remember to twitter or comment on their blog when you tag them so they will know they have been tag.

Hi Giovanna
What a creative way of presenting the facts about yourself. Just that you have made this “game” your own says a great deal.
Juliet
Yikes!! Giovanna - I forgot you tagged me!! I owe you a tag-reply!
Funny thing - just a few nights ago my graduating class had a get together, and it was interesting how we didn’t even recognize each other. For me I was geek and still am to this day - so I remember thinking that I didn’t fit and would have a hard time making friends.
I would tell my young self this - do what feels right and trust your intuition. Being a geek is okay - in fact, I would argue its the best way to go. Never give up and don’t pay attention to the ones who laugh at you.
Hi Juliet
Thanks for the tag
I was inspire to write about “Message to my young self” then your tag came along. So, I just combine the two
Thanks,

Hi Giovanna,
I’m coming here from Juliet’s blog - and it’s great to be here! I love the angle you’ve taken with this meme. So interesting to think about we would tell our younger selves. They’re all excellent, however my favorite is #3 - it’s way cool to not be like everyone else. This is also a great message for me yet today. I’m pretty okay with me being “me” - yet there are moments when I think it’s better just to fit in. You’re reminder here, though, is right on - we should be who we desire to be - not what someone else expects, or what we think is “right” according to those around us. What an awesome message Giovanna! Thanks so much for writing this the way you did!
Hi Lance
I am so glad #3 speaks to you so strongly. That is one that I believe we all get tested constantly regardless of age, a good one to be reminded of
I am happy you came by and I hope to see you soon again.
Thanks for your comment.

Hi Giovanna!
LOL I think I’d tell myself ALL those things, too! I’d also include: 1.) It doesn’t matter what everyone thinks!! What’s more important is how you think of your own self and YOUR Happiness comes first. 2.) Your hair will never be the same after all those perms! Trust me!3.) Cut it out with the hairspray! A tornado couldn’t move those bangs! LOL
Your post brought back memories of my “younger” days. Thanks for the smiles!!
Many Blessings….Roxanne
