6 ways to bounce back from anything in less than 2 hours.
Welcome back!
Unless you live in a room with padded walls, most likely in your life time you are going to get some bumps and bruises.
To make in life, we all need the ability to bounce back. So, here is my own Action plan to bounce back from just about anything.
1. How you deal with your bumps and bruises.
You must understand that the bumps and bruises are not failure! They are just setback! And if you have been calling them failures!? Stop doing that - The word failure has negative feeling to it. When you call it a setback, it will be easier for your brain to think, “Hey, I got a setback, I am going to move forward!”
2. Don’t generalize things.
Avoid saying things like, “I never get what I want.” “This always happens to me!” Whenever you use words like ‘Never’ and ‘Always’, you are make that situation permanent. In turns you are making your setback a permanent fixture and that is going to prohibit you from having the ability and the optimism to bounce back.
3. Be optimistic.
So what that happened last time! Every time you try it again; it is a brand new situation. Who care about the past, we live for today! Your past does not equal the future.
4. Do an assessment.
After a setback immediately do an assessment of the situation. What did you lose? What didn’t you lose? A lot of time people’s head start doing the self-talk. Your head start saying, “I lost everything!” But did you really lose everything? If you do an assessment immediately after the setback, you will be able to stay logical, and you will also see what you actually lost instead of letting your feeling do the talking. This will keep you your attitude and thinking is a much better place for you to bounce back.
5. Letting go!
As much as I just said to stay logical, in no way am I saying you shouldn’t have feeling after a setback. So we do need room for our feeling. However, at some point we need to let go. If you don’t let go, you are robbing yourself the chance to get over it! So after we recognize our feeling, we “let it go!” And just accept when happened.
6. Reposition yourself.
Now that you are ready to pick up where you left off and move forward. Let’s check to see you not going down the same path again. If you keep doing what you been doing, you’re going to keep getting the same results. So let’s take a moment to regroup and come up with a new game plan, and position yourself accordingly.

Hi Giovanna,
you are right, when we hit a bump on the road it’s not a failure, it’s a setback at the moment it happened. But if we look closer to it, it always gives us some feedback or teaches us a lesson. That’s why a setback turns into a progress, and why we can always benefit from it.
You highlighted 6 really great ways, thank you!
Hey, some great advice there, I particulary like number 2 - from a psychological standpoint your absolutly right. Using negative words like that puts the mind in a bad mood. Great point!
I think letting go is the most important of the 6 (closely followed by Be Optimistic).
We can not control everything and trying to do so will drive you mad and lead to a miserable existence. What’s that old saying - accept what you can change while also accepting what you can’t.. pretty sure that’s not how it goes but you get the idea
Nice, useful list, thanks Giovanna for posting this

Hi Dave
Yes, letting go is very important! And amazingly a lot of people got stuck on that one.
I like what you said about the accept what we can change and accept what we can’t change. You are very wise

Hi Giovanna,
Awesome post!! It’s definitely important to stay optimistic!! It’s just a bump in the road or a bruise. NO Biggie!! Then, let’s move forward because it’s just a “setback.” I think Napoleon Hill said, “Every failure brings with it the seed of an equivalent success.” Great quote, but I’d tell tell him to change failure to setback instead.
Thank you for all that you do and sharing your wisdom!!
Many Blessings….
