What is your Song? Your Anthem…
Welcome back!
Back in October 2008 I wrote a blog post called “What is your theme song?”
It was about if we all have a theme song that embodies the best of us. And whenever we get lost emotionally or spiritually we can simply just play our theme song, and it will remind us who we are, and what we are about. That would be the easiest inspirational thing any one of us can do, is to play our song.

Well, Giovanna, I’ve never encountered a song, in any genre, that truly speaks to me in that way. It’s one of the reasons that I’m working on starting a music career. I’m motivated by what I want to say and express, instead of being motivated by wanting to show of my talents or my voice. That’s one of my main problems with music nowadays. The artists are motivated by money, and will make music, regardless of whether or not they have a motivation to express themselves.
I do like your advice of identifying with a song, and listening to it for inspiration. I’d also recommend finding a musical artist that you personally identify with. Maybe they had a similar upbringing as you. Learn about the artist, so that you can put yourself in their point of view when they recorded the music. This is how music can touch us in such a personal way that few other mediums can.
Hi Gio - yes you do seem to have picked an excellent theme for life .. & your sharing of Hugo & Roxanne’s words, CW’s rewording of the Kenny Rogers song - appropriate in his case? .. & Agnes’ word “Testify” .. is straight to the point - use every moment & embrace life.
& I love our theme song .. thanks for bringing it to life for your Imperfect Action Group.

I wrote a post back in October, also, about this - the “soundtrack of our lives”. One of the songs I listed, which I really love the meaning behind - is - “Anyway” by Martina McBride. I find the words to this song to be so moving and meaningful.

Love the song Giovanna! For me, Winter in July by Sarah Brightman comes to mind, especially this lines.

The one song that speaks to me time and time again is a song called Awaken by Yes. I’ll only share a few of the lyrics as the song is lnegthy - 15+ minutes long.
