To reach for your dreams…take a drive in the dark!
Welcome back!
All of us have dreams and desires to do more and be more. Some of us have gotten there; some of us are on our way. While, others feel that they want to get started. Yet they keep holding back to wait for more certainty. Therefore, these individuals never get started. These people have the symptom of what we known as “getting ready to get ready.” Their need to know more, research more, think about it more; kept them from every reaching their potential. As a result they are forever 
getting ready and they are missing out ‘big time’ in life.
Life is a journey that unfolds in front of us, a little bit at a time as we move along. Very much like the first time you go to visit someplace new. You have never been there before, yet you got into your car with some driving directions or your map and you headed out. You knew that it is possible that you might get lost, the direction may be wrong; the road may be closed… All of that could happen, none the less, you knew that you will be OK! You trust that you can figure it out as you go along.
Haven’t you ever driven in the dark, out in the countryside with no street lights? All that you have is your head lights which may only light up about 100 ft in front of you. You have no idea what is beyond the 100ft, yet you drove in the dark trusting that you will see the next 100ft as you move ahead.
That is exactly how life works; you don’t need to know everything… All you have to do is to believe - believe in yourself. Trusted that you can and you will figure it out as you move along.
If you have ever got into your car to go somewhere that you have never been before or if you have ever driven in the dark? If the answer is yes, then you should know that you have the ability to go ahead to reach for your dreams without knowing all the pieces. Don’t park your life in the drive way any longer, while you are trying to figure out how life is going to unfold. Get out there and go after what you want. Have no fear!
Let your life unfold as you move along. You can do it! You have driven in the dark…

Thanks for this post. I’ve been wondering whether to embark on some adventure in my life, yet have been clinging to the security of what I know. When driving I’m quite happy to start out and figure the way as I go. I’ll apply this to life too, though it’s really scary. Thanks for the analogy, it gives me a good mental picture to work with!

I love this comparison with driving in the dark. Most have been there. And what a great point - we aren’t going to always know where we’re going when we’re driving our car in the dark - yet we still go. Life IS the same! Some paths will be darker in our life travels - yet that doesn’t mean just because the path isn’t lit for us - we shouldn’t go. A world awaits us - if we have faith in ourselves and then go forth! Thank you, this is a wonderful reminder!

I love this post. How true! The analogy is perfect and everybody can relate. You don’t need to cross all your “t” and dot all the “i”. Sometimes you just need to believe and have a little trust in yourself, because at the end of the day, you still won’t know what lies ahead, you never will, so you might as well try to navigate in a direction, a direction of your choosing.
How true .. but also we’re travelling that road any way .. each minute ticks by, each day passes, … we must utilise our life effectively and to the best .. so we have to go forward - and not lose out to time, negativity or the darkness … we can only learn by change & moving on .. reaching our dreams.
Yes this is such wise encouragement. Too many hesitate and analyze for far too long.
What they don’t realize are the hidden opportunities that can can see only after taking action.

Definitely true. There’s alway more that we could research or learn about whatever it is we want to do, but we’re no closer to it until we actually start. Something I’ve been working on a lot in my life lately.

what an inspirational post, thank you. Even though sometimes this drive scares us a bit, even though it puts us out of our comfort zone, it’s exactly what we need to do to get to the next level. And yes, the road my be bumpy but the road, or our way in life, way to achieve our goal, is also the exciting part, the part that we should enjoy. As you said, life keeps unfolding in front of us as we go along…

I read this post because I was drawn here from a ‘related postings’ link on one of your more recent postings. The reason? I, quite literally, take long, quiet drives at night.
