Finding your online Art business with Imperfect Action!
Welcome back!
I receive a note from one of our reader. Her name is Claire Elek. A visual artist in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and she is currently working on a series of large, exotic, mythological oil paintings of transformation and celebration in jungles and water gardens on canvas and on canvas folding screens.
Here is what Claire had to say: Hello Giovanna,
Here’s my story. I’m a painter and for years I’ve wanted to have a website from which to promote my art, but I thought I had to wait until I could afford to get one designed and created for me for a lot of money. Well, finally I decided to create my own website with the help of Apple instructors so I signed up to their One to one Program and started taking classes where I learned to create my website. My website now has everything a professional website would have including videos and slide shows and I can change it, add to it, whatever whenever I like. And it cost me much less than a pro website would have cost, just the cost of classes for a year. I also started promoting my art on Facebook and on online galleries and have two potential clients in three months as a result… and many fans. I received much more than I anticipated when I fearfully started this process… besides a feature as artist of the week in an arts and culture magazine online and an article about me in a spiritual mag. online coming up… most of all appreciation as an artist and as a person and a great boost to my self-esteem and many friends from all around the world..I feel very blessed… A post perfectionist, I hope lol ClaireThank you, Claire for sharing your Imperfect Action story with us. Your story will help inspire many people to follow your foot step.

Giovanna,
This is good real world story that proves once more that imperfect action is better than no action.
I am big fan of real world case studies - please keep sharing these here on your blog!
Giovanna:
Thank you for sharing Claire’s story. And Claire, thank you for sharing your story here and having the courage to pursue the avenue for your artistic dreams. You are an encouragement to others!
Thanks again to both of you!
I always love the possibilities that open up when you take action … imperfect or not.
I love hearing stories about people who pushed beyond their fears and insecurities and pursued their passions. This is something that I’m hoping to motivate people to do. We should always make room in our lives for what we love to do, and we should at least attempt to make a living off of what we love. Everyone can contribute to making the universe a better place to live, if we can just find it within ourselves to take action!
That is amazing .. good for her .. she obviously thinks big .. & I’m so pleased to hear she’s a part of the Imperfect Action Group .. it’s wonderful having inspiring friends likeClaire around & to see how much she’s achieved for herself & how much she can teach us we can do.
Thanks for sharing with us .. Hilary

Hi J.D.
I totally agree with you, the point is to take action. When she started out with the Apple guy, she didn’t know how it is going to turn out. And if she were looking to only do the website if it is grantee to be perfect, than she might have never go started.
Thanks for your comment.

Hi Trey
I am glad you enjoyed the story. That is the reason what I am always asking if anyone have an Story of them taking an Action without have a grantee that it is going to be perfect first. That way together we can inspire more and more people to take action to live their dreams.
Thanks for your comment and sharing your wisdom with us.

You’re welcome Henie.. I’m taking steps to make my dreams come true sometimes scared that I’ll be criticized or rejected, but I figure if I don’t take steps I’ll feel worse because I’ll never know what could have happened. And every positive result I get propels me to take the next step..
Thank you everyone for appreciating my story. Yes, I agree that we can learn from and get inspired and motivated to take action by each others’ stories of taking action despite fear. I find that I get inspired by people on Facebook who are trying to make a go of a business or an art. I try to observe how they network. Some of us have been told not to be boastful about our talents or to stay in the box, take the safe road. Well, I feel it’s important for us all to risk and shine. Doing what we love to do is healthy. Telling people about our talents is not boasting. Letting other people benefit from our talents and making money from our talents is just an exchange. And I find that there is nothing more satisfying then getting paid for something I really love to do…
Hi Giovanna, thanks for sharing the Claire’s story, it truly inspired me.
Hi Claire, pleased to know you and also thanks for the share.
I like the inside of this story : just do it.
I love these stories of imperfect actions.
It reminds me of my journey through life and my many imperfect actions that I took or I am taken.
My blog - which I started 4 month ago - it is one of them.
It took me 2 month to change my blog background. - I did it by trial and error.
It still puts a smile on my face when I think about it
Thank you for sharing this very inspirational story!
Be Loved!

Hello Arswino,Buddhahollywood,
Nice to meet you Arswino as well. I’m very glad that you both found my story inspirational.
I have a quote from Osho, a wise but very human being..who believed life is for LIVING.
“life consists of now and here. So there is no space and time enough to struggle. There is only enough time to celebrate. You can remain just a spectator. My invitation is to become a participant.”
OSHO
Giovanna and Claire, thank you for the great story. You have done well, so all that we can add to that is well done, well done, well done.
