Can a housekeeper be a motivation factor?
Welcome back!
If somebody is clear on what they want and know the way to get what they want. How is that they still can’t get what they are after?
Would it be fair to say that most people would like to be 10Lbs liter? Would you agree with me that those people are clear about wanting to loss 10Lbs? If that is the case than why are these people 10Lbs over weight? Is it because they don’t know how to go about losing 10Lbs? Have they not heard about eating better or less and moving their bodies around more? My guess is that everyone knows the basic things to do for weight loss. So what is the real issue?
This post is not about weight loss, this post is about procrastination…
Let me tell you a story about a man name Joey. Joey will be retiring from his job in 3 years. Joey’s problem is that his monthly retirement check will be $300.00 less than his house payment and not to mention other issues he will face with money for food and everything else.
Joey had been working on starting a business on side for a year now, knowing that he need a way to have extra monthly incoming in the future. However, Joey have yet to do anything money making activity for his business. Joey had come to the conclusions that when he is at work he does his work load every day, but when it is time for him to doing his own business work. He would always find something else to do instead, such as cleaning, researching etc.. Then at the end of the day he would say to himself I can do my business prospecting tomorrow. So for the last year, Joey had a very clean house and he read a lot of information on his business topic. Ironically, Joey hates vacuuming yet often he choose vacuum over building his business. So one day Joey had an epiphany to take on a more immediate goal instead of normally he was look to start to build a business that will paid for his survival in 3 years. This time Joey’s goal is to get his first sell, and then to hire a housekeeper for once and have someone else vacuum for him.
I wish Joey luck. Do you think Joey’s short term goal will work better him this time? Having a smaller short term goal can be helpful to a Procrastinator.

Hi Gio .. too true .. it’s so easy to do .. and that’s a good post with a YouTube prompter .. ridiculous really how we can get distracted ..
thanks - Hilary: Be Positive Be Happy
Gio,
It’s a good approach actually to focus on the first sale. All he needs to do is to live one day - just one day -doing the stuff he actually needs to do. Achieving the goal comes by itself. All goals are simply the natural outcome of living a set of action filled days.
That describes me! That is exactly what I do every day.
Hi Hilary
It is very interesting that people can get distracted so easy if we don’t pay attention to this. I hope this post will help everyone to notice when we get distracted and able to catch ourselves in order to get back on path quickly.

I would say that Joey’s new approach will be better for achieving his goal. This brings up a good point of adjustment, we must be willing to be aware of what we are doing and why and make adjustments to our goals along the way.
Hi Mark
We have to flexible to how we are going about the way we do things. And we need to be adjustable ourselves.

Thanks for this post. I think what you said about weight loss in the beginning illustrates that learning more “tips and tricks” isn’t always what we need to get out of a rut or reach our goals — instead, we have to take a look at our own patterns of thinking and feeling.
Hi Giovanna,
Awesome post on banishing procrastination!
Setting short term goals has definitely worked more effectively for us. Then, when we achieve them, we get a sense of accomplishment which is motivating. It’s of course, still very important to stay focused on our visions and long-term goals. This way we never forget why achieving our short term goals are so important to getting us where we want to be.
Thank you for always inspiring us!
Many Blessings….

Hi Chris
Yes, it is not about learning new tips and tricks. Is a lot more about what goes on in our brain and taking action to do the things we need to do, to get the result we are after.

Hi Hugo & Roxanne
A lot of time procrastinator focus so much on the big goal and they never take the small step first, so some time for a procrastinator it is best just to reach for a small goal first.
