Great depression or Great opportunity?

Welcome back!

88614675_pbsaensj_img_2499_resize

Every day in the media we are fed messages of economic crisis, housing market crush, Job loss, we are heading to the next great depression… the bad news just kept going on and on. I wonder doesn’t the media knows that in the last so called “Great Depression” more millionaires were created during that time than in any other time in American history. Opportunities that did not exist in the boom 1920s, suddenly become available.

At a time most people were busy focusing on all the bad. Some wise folks were able to see opportunities and with small amounts of liquid cash these folks were able to buy bankrupt businesses and real estate at bargain prices. These people made their million in taking risk on investing.

Others made their million during this tough time by taking actions, you might know some of them. In Kentucky a grandfather, called Colonel Sanders started to serve fried chicken at his gas station. By 1937 he had expended from his gas station to a restaurant that seats 142. Two electrical engineering graduates rented a garage during the 1930s with only $538 of investment money. Who are they? Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard also known as HP.

So if you are looking for the bad news, you will come across all the bad news. If you are looking for opportunities to invest or actions to take in your business venture, you will also run into those as well.

Don’t buy into the great depression talk. If we could ask Colonel Sanders, Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard; what do they think? My guess is Colonel Sanders would say, ” The demand for fried chicken are higher than ever”.  Hewlett and Packard would say, “Rent for garages have never been cheaper”.

The great depression can be the greatest opportunity.

Thanks Gio .. I agree it’s a great opportunity to ‘break out’ and develop new ideas, create new products, learn so much, stretch our brains and start new businesses and help others with our positiveness, commitment, belief and ability to take one step at a time and become entrepreneurs .. Go for it everyone ..

It’s getting easier all the time to get mortgages reduced by 30 to 50%, and sell the house by a short sale. I usually have multiple offers, and back up contracts on these in my area. Talk about great opportunity! I can also help a homeowner, or an agent in any area
by getting the short sale negotiated with the bank, so you can get the house sold.

Bad news is rampant but opportunities even more so! That’s the beauty that you are sharing here, Gio! Thank you! :~)

Hi Giovanna,

I absolutely agree. It is all a matter of attitude. Life is always full of possibilities…you just have to look for them. I also think what you see is also a reflection of how you think and feel. It truly is a matter of seeing the glass half full or half empty!

Hope all is well! :)

Gio,

I tend to be very sensitive to this topic and I always take a stand for the people who look at opportunities rather than crisis in a situation. You so rightly pointed that out in your post.

Thanks for being part of the solution instead of the problem! You’re awesome. Why don’t you create a show opposite of CNN and report like this 24/7? You’d have an instant following!
Thanks for sharing!

The brain sees only what we tell it to look for. This is so true, and I agree with Tess that the world needs to hear your message right now!

Hi Kathleen

It is great opportunity if we accept it as opportunity. I know a lot of people are building their nest egg right now.
It is great that you are out helping people.
