when life give you lemon make Honey instead.

Welcome back!

honey

Here is story about  a couple name Stan and Sharon Miller. Stan has a passion for collecting quotes. And one year him and his wife decided to compiled his quotes and stories and make a book as Christmas gift for friends and families.

Stan went to the printer and was quoted $1000 for 1000 copies. Stan thought to himself that sounded like a good price so he ordered 1000 copies.

The thing is, when the bill from the printer came it was $10,000 dollar instead of $1000. A little misunderstanding of one Zero.

Stan and his wife Sharon were in a panic. In their desperation, Stan took a few copies of the book to a local university bookstore, but the book store didn’t want his book. They did however agree to let him leave a few dozen copies of  his book on consignment.  When Stan came back to the bookstore in few weeks, he couldn’t find any of his book in the store. Surprisingly they were all sold out.

The book Especially for Mormons took off like hotcakes, more than a million copies were sold in the past 25 years. There are now a total of 6 volumes of his book, all designed to inspire and warm the heart with quotes, stories, and thoughts.

A silly mistake of one little zero, when from what could have been a devastation to million-dollar. All because of the Imperfect Action of Stan and Sharon Miller.

You heard of “When life give you lemon make lemonade”.

How about : When life give you lemon make Honey instead.

Hi Giovanna!

“….make Honey instead.” We like that very much!! :-)

The mistake of one zero added several more zeros into their bank accounts! What’s also great is that their book of Inspirational quotes make a difference in the lives of many. Everyone benefitted from this mistake. That makes this story even more sweet…as sweet as honey!

Thanks for sharing!

Many Blessings….

Hiya

Stories like this shift my direction toward the increasingly positive. I believe that well intentioned gifts for humanity like the Miller’s book deserve to succeed and often do.
Thanks for a wonderful story and have a great weekend

That must have been the best mistake Stan made in his life! His imperfect action was definitely life-changing. It’s a great story - thank you!

I absolutely love this story. Goes to show you, life is what you make out of it. I always tell my friends that when life gives you lemons, forget the lemonade, make lemon meringue pie! :)

Loved it. Inspiring and gives us all hope. I also love the idea than imperfect action is better than no action.

It only proves once again - our actions are reactions to the events. Just started to read Jack Canfield’s “principles of success” book. His one of the first advices is ‘want to change your outcomes, change your reactions”.

A great lesson on creative marketing, that often happens in a crisis situation - sometimes you need to go out on a limb and try something new - if it doesn’t work as planned valuable lessons are learned, and in this case valuable dollars were earned!

Hi Giovanna, I love this story. You continued to tell the story about imperfect action. Often times an imperfect action gives a great result for us instead.
Thanks for sharing, Gio.

Hello Giovanna, Nice post as always. It is all up to us if we can make things better or worse. Key point was if we can just panic and give up or take action even imperfect to try to make it better. Thank you for your inspiring story.

Hi Gio .. what a great story .. homemade presents are often so wonderful and are appreciated by the family and friend .. but just never get beyond the boundaries of family .. and it can take just one “mistake” or just one friend .. to realise the potential of this homemade present .. Imperfect Action can lead to so much …

Lemons and Honey will jog my brain as to the possibilities in life ..if you take the plunge, or have an ‘accident’ of only one zero after all - a huge shock, but what a great story of lots of zeros …just take action - imperfect or not ..

Thanks - Hilary: Positive Letters

Hi Hilary
Stan’s story was an amazing one. When the mistake of the zero happen, he took action by taking his book to the bookstore. That is how the good result happened because he took action.

Not always easy to accomplish when the lemon is delivered, but very sound advice. If we each react with honey, the world would be a warmer place.

I like the idea of getting to honey from lemons … it’s like a real blue ocean strategy and thinking out of the box.

It’s a reminder that life is less about what happens to you and more about your response.
