One person can change the world.
Welcome back!
A woman in Seattle name Atira one night she was watching the show 20/20 on TV and it was about a Nun, in Egypt. This Nun works for the poor and homeless at the garbage dump city, the story of this Nun inspired Atira to spend her retirement years to help this Nun in Egypt.

One person can change the world.
Atira planned a baby shower at home and asked everyone to bring a wash cloth and soap. Everyone one thought she was crazy, until she told them what she was trying to do.
Atira called her Dentist and Doctor’s offices and asked what kind of medicines would be needed to help out in a poverty area. She collected toothbrushes, bandages, etc….until she had suitcases full of things
to take to Cairo with her. Her goal was to do her part to help.
Atira signed up with a tour group to go to Egypt and she asked some of the other members in the tour to help by bringing used children’s clothing , pencils, and children’s books with them to be given to this caring Nun Sister E. Eight people in the group did bring pens, coloring books, clothes, and various toys along on the tour.
On their arrival in Cairo, not knowing what to do with the mountain of supplies for the Nun. Atira asked the hotel manager if he could try and locate this healer of the poor, and within days, he had located the Nun. But the Nun was out of the country and would not be back until Atira had returned to Seattle.
The Hotel Manager said he would storage all the things for Atira and he would give them to Sister E. upon her return. This hotel manager shared Atira’s story with other members of the tour who was unaware of what Atira was doing. As it turned out two of people in the tour worked with World Wide Health Care Project for the Poor. They had never heard of Sister E. and her plight to help the poor.
These men stayed in Cairo longer than Atira could and they were there when the Sister E collected Atira’s donation. The two men ended up talking to Sister E. They were able to get her funding for a Health Care Clinic. Atira continue to travels to Egypt regularly to do her work and to help Sister E. as a result a many people in the garbage dump city received much needed support.
The miracle in this story is how one person can affect the lives of others, one person’s intentions lead to miracles much greater than anyone could ever imagined. Atira didn’t have the perfect plan, she didn’t know how she was going to find Sister E and how much or how little she could help. She just took action.
If you want to help or want to make a difference. Get started today, just do what you can and don’t worry about if it is perfect or not. One person can change the world.

Giovanna,
Atira’s example provides a very clear demonstration with regards to your key messages about imperfect action.
There is wisdom in crossing bridges when you come to them, and I am pleased to hear that she overcome the fears which she no doubt had and undertook some positive action steps, even if she may not have had all the answers at the time of starting out.
Hiya
Another wonderfully inspiring story. Amazing events can unfold when we act on the decision to assist others. I like your statement: “Get started today, just do what you can and don’t worry about if it is perfect or not. One person can change the world.”
Thanks

Good story, Giovanna.
I think we believe we need to help in one big way when all that’s really needed is a collection of small gestures that, in combination, make a big difference.
So true! One person really CAN make a difference. Sometimes it’s hard to think we can really do that much, just being an individual person, but this inspiring story reminds us that it really is possible to make a change. Thank you, once again, for sharing these great stories.

I really like your theme of one person can change the world.
It’s so true. I think a lot of people are catalysts for others and you just never know who you might inspire.
This is a great story how one person can change the world. Truth is we each change the world everyday, it is simply a matter of weather or not our change is for the good or the bad.
Beautiful Gio. What a lovely story and it’s always amazing to see how the Universe makes things possible for people who are sincere and committed in their unconditional love for the human kind. Thanks for posting it.
Hi J.D.
Yes, Atira just knew that she wanted to help. No know what much she ended up helping. If we just get started the result can be amazing.

I’m doing it. Just like Margaret Mead said - “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
Hi Giovanna,
All it takes is one action to make a profound difference in someone’s life. We just wrote about the importance of “giving our time” to someone who needs it most and how enhancing the quality of their lives, enhances the quality of ours. This is exactly what Atira did.
Thank you for sharing this inspiring story.
Many Blessings….

Hi Arswino,
We don’t have to do something grand in order to be considered noble. Sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest difference.
