What is your message in the bottle?
Welcome back!
If you can send a message in the bottle back in time to your younger self. What message would you send to younger self?
Here are some words of wisdom that I would like to send to my younger self.

1. Don’t go for looks, they can deceive. Don’t go for wealth even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile.
2. Dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go, be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want in life.
3. May you have…Enough happiness to make you sweet
Enough trials to make you strong
Enough sorrow to keep you human
Enough hope to make you happy
4. When one door of happiness closes, another openswalk away feeling like that was the best conversation you’ve had.
6. It’s true that we don’t know what we’ve got until we lose it, but it’s also true that we don’t know what we’ve been missing until it arrives.
7. Always put yourself in other’s shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably does hurt the person too.
8. The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves and not to twist them with our own image, otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them.
9. The happiest people don’t necessarily have the best of everything, they just make the most of everything that comes along the way.
10. Love is when you take away the feeling, the passion, the romance and find out you still care for that person.
11. It hurts to love someone, and not to be loved in return but what is most painful is to love someone and never finds the courage to let the person know how you feel.
12. Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they’ll love you back. Don’t expect love in return, just wait for it to grow in their hearts but if it doesn’t, be content it grew in yours.
13. There are things you love to hear but you would never hear it from the person whom you would like to hear it from, but don’t be deaf to hear it from the person who says it with his heart.
What messages are in your bottle that you would send back to your past?

Hi Gio .. as a kid .. I always wanted to find a message in a bottle on the beaches in Cornwall - sadly none came my way!!
I like your 13 points and the idea that you send them back to your past ..I’d like to come back to this idea and post, when my life (or my mind) is settled and I can make some cohesive comments.
Great idea .. and I really look forward to everyone’s comments
Thanks - Hilary Melton-Butcher
Positive Letters
Giovanna, the comments that you would make to yourself are very helpful to all that read them. Thank you

Sorry… forgot to say great post - can’t wait to read your next one!
Giovanna,
I love this post. “Go for someone who makes you smile” made me smile! And this I found most moving for me:
“The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves and not to twist them with our own image, otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them.”
The bible says Love never fails! How true. Good message!
Thanks for sharing your message in a bottle!
I’d go for “dream what you want to dream”. Very uplifting
[...] Giovanna at Imperfect Action just wrote a wise message to her younger self. I too wish I’d known all that when I was younger. [...]
#1 is great! I wrote a post about appearance today that really ties in with that. Looks are not everything. Great post! I wish I could write a letter to my younger self…but, to be honest, I don’t know if my younger self would have listened to my advice anyway.
Beautiful lessons!
My one-liner message would be, be YOUR best.
Hi Hilary,
Even if you don’t come back and comment, it’s something foryou to ponder and think about.
Would you send yourself a message? Would you want to skip out on some of the “not so great” things that happend in your life? I know that if I hadn’t gone throught some of the things I have, I wouldn’t be the person that I am today.
I hope you have a beatuiful day!~ Take Care

That’s right, looks are not everything. I totally agree with what you said. I don’t think my younger self would have listend to me. There was no slowing me down!

Hi J.D.
So true….”be your best”. As like as you try to do and be your best, thats what matters. It doesn’t matter if what you do isn’t “perfect”…it’s the action that matters.
Thanks for sharing, I hope you’re having a great day.

Remember to hit on that cute red head girl earlier because she likes you.
Hello Giovanna,
It is very nice post. The post relaxed me after a hard day both in work and life. I will think about the bottle when I got stuck next time.
Thank you for your sharing.
