Rally Back for the Year!
Welcome back!

Rally Back
2009 is flying by; before you know it we are approaching midway. Have you got done what you were set out to do? How are you doing with your goals for 2009? Have you achieved them already? Are you on track for reaching them?
This is a great time to take a look at where you are for this year’s goals? If you have achieved your goals, congratulations! The year is early, what more do you wish to achieve? If you found that you have falling behind or maybe you have forgotten all about your goals. This is the time to rally back! And make a run for it.
90% of people who made goals at the beginning of the year never reach them by the end of that year. Most time it is because they forget to work on their goals on a regular basis and then they realized the year is 3 quarters of ways gone. So these people give up on their goals and they wait for a new year to make their new goals. As a result a lot of people have unreached goals for many years.
So, today let’s take a look at everyone’s goal together.
What are your goals for 2009?
Are they realistic? If not, adjust them so that they are possible to reach.
What have you done toward your goals?
What is still left to be done, in order for you to reach your goals?
Break down the steps you are going to take to reach your goals with time line?
Now, answer the follow question with complete honesty:
How committed are in achieving your goals?
The true answer to this question is your odds in achieving your goals.
What I mean by that is, when a person is interested in their goal. They will do what it takes for their goals, as long as it is easy or convenience. Meaning this person will stop reaching for his or her goal, when the ride starts to get bumpy. It is because of their interest level to their goals.
Therefore, a person who is more interested in reaching his or her goals then the group above; will last longer in their bumpy ride. It is because they are more interested in reaching their goals. This group will have better odds in achieving.
Lastly, people who are committed to achieving their goals will not stop no matter what. This group will endure the long bumpy ride, pay the price and do whatever it takes. It is because of their commitment level. For this group, odds are on their side.
So there it is: If you got off track, you can get back on track today! You don’t have to wait until the next year’s resolutions to pick up where you left off. Today is just as good of a day to reset your sight on your goals. Rally Back for the Year!

Great post! I just realized today that tomorrow is JUNE! I cannot believe how fast 2009 has gone and, while I do think I’ve accomplished a lot so far, I do need to go back and take another look at what I really wanted to get done. Thanks for the reminder!
Giovanna, thank you for the reminder, it is time to get back on track. The year is not over yet. They can be done in the time that is left. It is a great time to get them done. Thank you agian.

Hi Giovanna - my goals are things like “to follow my intuition” and “to stay in present time” - things like that. Achieving them is an ongoing focus, rather than something related to time passing. I guess many people find it useful to think in terms of a year passing! Cheers - R
2009 is flying by!
I use The Rule of 3 and set 3 simple things to accomplish:
1. get to my fighting weight
2. ship my book
3. take an epic adventure
I’m on track for all 3.
Hiya Giovanna
A timely post as I’ve redesigned some goals I’m working toward achieving. I’ve made them more realistic and easier (i believe) to achieve or at least to find if they are achievable.
I find myself constantly checking my steps to my goals as I need to ensure it’s realistic.
Thanks
Jens
Hi Giovanna,
Time sure does fly by fast. It is amazing to me that it is June 1st. I think a person who truly believes in themselves and the possibility of realizing their goals will be more likely to do the work needed. Fear and doubt are what prevent people from achieving their goals. At least that is what I have seen and experiened.
I’m pretty much on track for most of my goals. I wrote a post in Jan about letting go of something each month and saving more money.
I checked back on my post and found out not only have I accomplished things monthly but I’m ahead of myself. In fact I’m going to post on my progress.
I agree, this is a great time to reflect on where we are and where we are heading. The key to goals is to allow yourself to be flexible. When we hold the goal too rigid, we tend to lose touch with the purpose.
I might have started a bit passed the beginning of the year, but today I quit smoking cigarettes. I have tried quitting in the past but have failed. This time I’m going to try even harder with the help of my girlfriend as she is trying to quit also.
Once I quit I’d like to start working out again and get into better shape, I figure better to do now than when I’m old and it’s too late.
Hi Robin

Hi Nadia
I agree with you, “most time people are stop by their own self doubt and fear.” In fact my feeling is that whenever a person can’t achieve something it is most likely that he or she doesn’t believe they can.
Thank you for your comment and shaing your wisdom.

Hi Mark
Yes, if we forgot the purpose to our goal than it have no meaning. Anything without purpose or meaning have very little value.

Hi Chicago Office
That is a wonderful goal, and you are very smart to have your girlfriend as your support system. The 2 of you together can help each other.
Thank you for your comment and sharing your goal with us.
You are so right about quitting cigarettes and taking better care of your body. We only get one body at a life time, treat it wisely.
Good luck with everything my friend

Hi Gio .. I must get back on track .. having dealt with a few necessary things for my Ma .. I know where I’m going - must just plan it out .. - I like Tess’ idea of letting go of one thing each month .. I’d use that to achieve one major stepping stone on my route.
Thanks for the post and it’s great to read everyone’s comments
