Imperfect Action is Better than No Action on Jobs and the Economy.

Welcome back!

Imperfect Action is Better than No Action

American Flag with an Eagle

Getting past a life-changing event can cause a hesitancy to make a decision due to the inability to predict where this decision will lead you in life.  However, if you refuse to completely move on and instead drag yourself down a hole from which there is no escape, you are further debilitating yourself through your lack of action.  The entire purpose of the “imperfect action” movement itself is to move against the inaction which so many people take after encountering a difficult decision which stands to set them back.

This terminology has been thrown around the political sphere as of late, due to many descriptions over the change that has occurred in the Obama administration, resulting in imperfect actions (which many political scientists agree is much better than no action).  While President Obama is new to the commander-in-chief title, he has already instituted many bouts of change, which is how you go about evolving a country in order to adapt to changes the market may have thrown your way.  Simply shying away from the responsibility of decision-making can cause the nation to fall deeper in the recession we are currently in, so the fact that this new administration has the ability to produce change (albeit imperfect) is a telling sign that these imperfection actions should be administered on a smaller level as well.  The fact that the economy is already on the mend further helps to prove that the change which was instituted in January have aided in securing the ability of the U.S. economy to bounce back.

Many Americans have been forced to relocate or have found themselves back on the job market in recent years as a result of the turn the economy has taken.  This has thus led to a high unemployment rate with many individuals unaware as to how to cope with this type of drastic life change: should they simply wait to hear from a rival company, or actively get out there and look for a job?  The answer seems obvious, but so many Americans are disheartened by the loss of their job and the slim pickings of the job market that they seem content to let their careers wither away rather than risk the many rejections that come with looking for a job.  It typically takes many interviews before you fine tune your interview skills and learn the tricks which can properly land you a job, but even taking a mediocre job is better than no job at all.  Generating some form of income and giving yourself something to do throughout the day is important to keeping your spirits lifted; if you simply lie around your house all day feeling sorry for yourself, there will not be much motivation to look for a job unless you are forced.  Even taking a small retail job, while still looking for new jobs, can help to improve your overall situation.

The fact is you cannot let yourself become discouraged by any roadblock that comes your way, and learn to take action, regardless of the outcome.  If you constantly weigh your life choices on the risk of failure, you will never gain experiences that are crucial to molding your inner being.

There are so many things that we can do to help ourselves. You are so right about getting out there and take a job to help you get by. That does not mean that you can keep looking for something else that you would really like.

First, I strongly agree with the post. Obama has the strengh and leadership to tackle really difficult issues. He has in effect implemented imperfect action…..but I admire his determination. Right or wrong he at least taking on extremely difficult and complex issues with no road map for a solution.

Thanks for a great post!

Hi Gio .. that’s a good post with some thought provoking points - which everyone could do to read and take note of.

I really do not like the idea of people retreating into their corrall and just waiting and so many do just that .. we don’t progress either as a peoples, or as a nation ..

Let’s go and take imperfect action, while improving our lives ..
